'London deserves better' - passenger watchdog calls for fresh approach on strike deadlock

After prolonged disruption due to strike action over the festive period, passengers would have been hoping the new year would bring some reasons to be optimistic.

Unfortunately, more strikes are taking place through January on both London's rail and bus services.

Michael Roberts, London TravelWatch CEO, said:

2023 in London begins with the grim prospect of 13 days of strike action this month affecting rail and bus services (with disruption also anticipated on parts of London Overground, the tube and Elizabeth line).

While many people will be able to work from home, that's not an option for those who rely on public transport to get to their place of work in key sectors, such as hospitals, care homes, schools, construction sites, restaurants and shops.

A new year calls for a fresh approach.  We’re calling on all sides to step up and find a solution as quickly as possible. London deserves better.
